Trane Technologies is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join its CHVAC Analytics & Technology Solutions team. This team uses data, technology, and AI-driven solutions to address business challenges, develop scalable data products, improve productivity, and support revenue growth.

In this remote role, you will work closely with stakeholders across sales, IT, data engineering, product management, and other business functions. You will turn complex data into actionable insights, develop and deploy machine learning models, and help guide strategic decisions through advanced analytics. The position also involves strengthening MLOps practices, evaluating model performance, and identifying opportunities to apply new data sources and data science technologies.

Key Responsibilities

*Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning models to address complex business problems.

*Establish and implement MLOps practices to automate model training, versioning, monitoring, and deployment.

*Build scalable, reliable machine learning solutions that can be integrated into production environments.

*Design experiments and statistical frameworks to evaluate model performance and measure business impact.

*Collaborate with data engineers, product owners, sales leaders, IT teams, and other stakeholders throughout the solution development process.

*Translate business challenges into data science initiatives, from initial concept through deployment.

*Lead peer reviews and promote continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and strong technical practices.

*Champion data governance, model validation, and responsible AI principles.

*Identify opportunities to use new data sources, tools, and techniques that deliver business value cost-effectively.

*Communicate complex statistical and mathematical concepts in clear, practical terms to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

*At least 6 years of experience in data science and machine learning, ideally in manufacturing, HVAC, or supply chain environments.

*Advanced knowledge of machine learning and statistical model development.

*Experience designing experiments to evaluate models and measure the impact of data science solutions.

*A proven track record of deploying impactful machine learning models into production.

*Experience working with cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and AWS.

*Proficiency in SQL, R, and/or Python, along with the ability to work with and adapt open-source solutions.

*Strong written and verbal communication skills.

*Ability to collaborate effectively with data professionals, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

*Experience with natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), or generative AI.

Preferred Qualifications

*Experience working in Agile environments.

*Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

Benefits & conditions

*Annual base salary: $117,673.33-$164,675.00.

*Incentive eligible; not eligible for sales commissions.

*Health insurance and holistic wellness programs, including wellness incentives, available from day one for employees and their families.

*Family-building benefits, including fertility coverage and adoption and surrogacy assistance.

*Up to 15 vacation days, paid holidays, sick leave, and additional volunteer and parental leave options.

*401(k) matching.

*Educational and professional development programs, tuition assistance, and student debt support.

Actual compensation depends on factors such as experience, education, seniority, merit, geographic location, travel requirements, and applicable union designation. Benefits may vary by location, business alignment, employment status, and applicable agreements or regulations.
