Senior Azure Java Cloud Engineer Distributed Systems | Contract | Atlanta, GA (Hybrid - Local Or near by Candidates Only)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Azure Java Cloud Engineer to design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale cloud applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development expertise, experience with distributed systems, REST API architecture, SQL Server optimization, and Azure security and monitoring services., * Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale Java batch applications and Spring Boot services on Microsoft Azure.

• Design and govern REST API specifications, ensuring security, scalability, maintainability, and versioning best practices.
• Drive data modeling, data mapping, database design, and performance optimization using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Implement cloud security using Azure Key Vault, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and secure configuration management.
• Configure application monitoring, logging, diagnostics, and observability using Azure Application Insights and Azure Monitor.
• Build scalable, reliable distributed applications and troubleshoot complex production issues.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and external technical teams to understand requirements, conduct technical demonstrations, and lead design reviews.
• Support automated builds, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and reliable application deployments.
• Apply banking and financial services domain knowledge, particularly in credit cards and lending systems.

• 12 15 years of overall IT experience with strong hands-on enterprise application development expertise.
• Extensive experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying applications on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of REST API design, specifications, security, scalability, and versioning.
• Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server, data modeling, query optimization, and database performance tuning.
• Experience with Azure Key Vault, RBAC, and secure application configuration.
• Experience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, logging, and production troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Atlanta, GA, three days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD automation using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or Azure Copilot for development, refactoring, and code quality improvement.
• Experience in banking, credit unions, credit card platforms, lending systems, or other financial services applications.
• Experience with enterprise batch processing, distributed systems, and cloud application modernization.
