Software Architect

The Software Architect - Advanced will design, develop, test, configure, implement, and support the ServiceNow platform for ITSM stakeholders within the Department of Administration. This role requires deep expertise in ServiceNow and ITSM frameworks, focusing on integration, automation, and multi-cloud resource governance. The architect will also mentor junior engineers and ensure the platform’s stability across development, testing, and production environments. Responsibilities:

• Maintain and manage the three ServiceNow environments: Development, Testing, and Production, including configurations, updates, promotions, cloning, and security.
• Create, maintain, and enhance forms, workflows, and cloud/third-party integrations within the ServiceNow platform.
• Develop automation and self-service features to improve ITSM processes.
• Incorporate ServiceNow capabilities to establish a unified framework for multi-cloud resource provisioning and governance.
• Utilize ServiceNow toolsets to enhance workflow and process automation.
• Research third-party and cloud solutions to ensure successful technology integration.
• Provide knowledge transfer and mentorship to Software Engineers and Associate Software Engineers.
• Communicate effectively with customers to gather technical requirements and maintain positive working relationships with staff, users, management, vendors, and officials.

• Strong experience managing and developing large-scale ServiceNow environments.
• Deep understanding of ITSM concepts and frameworks.
• Proficiency in Server API development.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration, computer science, management information science, or related field plus two years of hands-on ITIL implementation experience, OR an associate degree with four years of ITIL implementation experience.
• CJIS certification is required for this position.
• Must pass a 7-year standard background check, credit history check, 10 panel drug test, driving record check (MVR), E-Verify, and SLED check.

• Experience with cloud integrations and third-party technology solutions.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain CJIS certification.
• Position requires passing multiple security and background checks.
• Fully onsite work required in Columbia, South Carolina.
• Candidates must be able to work Eastern Time Zone hours.
• All travel-related expenses for onsite work are the responsibility of the employee.

Scheduling:

• Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
• Contract duration is 12 months with possibility of extension.
• One round of in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
