Data Center Engineer Operator

We are seeking Data Center Engineer Operator to support a large-scale data center operation in the Greater Columbus Area. This role is ideal for individuals with mechanical, electrical, HVAC, maintenance, military, or technical trade backgrounds who enjoy hands-on work and troubleshooting critical infrastructure. This position offers excellent career growth opportunities within the rapidly expanding data center industry and provides hands-on experience supporting mission-critical facility operations., Assist with the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of critical data center systems.

Support electrical, mechanical, HVAC, power distribution, cooling, and backup power equipment.

Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot facility-related issues.

Use hand and power tools to support server rack builds and infrastructure projects.

Monitor building systems and respond to operational alerts.

Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure facility reliability.

Maintain accurate inventory, maintenance, and operational records.

Follow established safety procedures and operational standards.

Leadership Switchgear Low Voltage Communication Detail Oriented Problem Solving Cooling Systems Equipment Repair Safety Procedures Business Valuation Technical Training Mechanical Aptitude Inventory Management Power Tool Operation Willingness To Learn Organizational Skills Operation Maintenance Preventive Maintenance Full Stack Development Business Transformation Building Management System Electric Power Distribution HVAC Repair And Maintenance Facility Repair And Maintenance Troubleshooting (Problem Solving), Mechanical, electrical, HVAC, maintenance, military, or technical trade experience preferred.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment using hand and power tools.

Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn critical facility systems.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced data center environment.

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Trade school, military technical training, or relevant technical education is a plus.

Preferred Experience

Data center, facilities, maintenance, electrical, or HVAC experience.

Knowledge of generators, UPS systems, switchgear, power distribution, cooling systems, or building automation systems.
