Job description
Nimara Ventures places senior AI, DevOps and product engineers with US companies. We’re looking for a hands-on Senior DevOps Engineer to build and run secure, scalable cloud platforms on AWS for client engagements. You’ll own infrastructure from networking to CI/CD to observability, work directly with engineering leadership, and set reliability standards that teams can follow.
What You’ll Do
- Design and manage AWS infrastructure: VPC, compute, load balancing, storage and databases
- Lead cloud migrations and platform build-outs, from architecture and tool selection to cutover
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, Jenkins or Argo CD) and automate image builds with Packer
- Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform and Terragrunt, and configuration with Ansible/AWX
- Run containerized workloads on Kubernetes, with policy and access controls such as Kyverno and RBAC
- Define SLOs, alerting thresholds, dashboards and escalation policies, and improve observability (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, OpenSearch)
- Act as incident commander for production issues, run post-incident reviews, and maintain runbooks and on-call processes
- Harden security and compliance: IAM, KMS, WAF, secrets management (HashiCorp Vault), SSO/SAML, and audit remediation such as PCI DSS
- Plan disaster recovery and backups, and reduce cloud spend through right-sizing and cost monitoring
- Mentor engineers and report on reliability and cost to leadership.
Requirements
- 6+ years in DevOps, SRE or cloud infrastructure
- Deep AWS experience (VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront or similar)
- Production Kubernetes experience
- Strong Terraform; experience with Ansible or similar configuration management
- Hands-on CI/CD experience (CircleCI, Jenkins, Argo CD or GitHub Actions)
- Experience with monitoring and logging platforms (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK/OpenSearch)
- Scripting in Python and Bash
- Experience handling production incidents and writing runbooks
- Strong communication, and comfort working with engineering leadership
Preferred
- AWS Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator or HashiCorp Terraform certification
- Compliance experience (PCI DSS, SOC 2)
- HashiCorp Vault, Okta SSO/SAML, AWS WAF
- Terragrunt, Packer, Kyverno
- Cost optimization (AWS Cost Explorer, tagging, right-sizing)
- Multi-cloud exposure (Google Cloud Platform)
- Experience leading or mentoring DevOps teams
Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
