Job description

You are the driving force behind your project from a technical perspective, from the client’s initial enquiry right through to a system that runs every day.

  • You visit the site. Together with the client, you map out the process, the products and the requirements - on the shop floor, not just on paper.
  • You select the right hardware. Cameras, lenses, lighting, 3D sensors and computing power: you decide what works in dusty, vibrating, low-light or high-speed environments.
  • You build the intelligence. You collect data, train AI models and write robust software that runs in real time as part of the production line.
  • You install and commission the system. You integrate your solution with PLCs, robots and HMIs and fine-tune them at the customer’s site.
  • You are the point of contact. You keep the customer informed, monitor scheduling and quality, and translate technical details into plain language.
  • You follow up. After handover, you return to the site, measure performance and propose improvements.

Requirements

You are a problem-solver who is just as happy standing next to a machine as sitting behind a screen. Whether you’re just starting out or an experienced professional, both are welcome.

  • A Master’s degree in (industrial) engineering, computer science or a similar discipline, or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.
  • A solid foundation in computer vision, gained through your studies, thesis, personal projects or work.
  • You are proficient in Python and/or C++ and are familiar with NumPy, OpenCV and PyTorch.
  • You enjoy working on-site with clients and are happy to carry out an installation or spend a day in the factory.
  • You communicate clearly and with a customer-focused approach, in both Dutch and English.
  • You take ownership and enjoy working independently, whilst being supported by a team.
  • You hold a Category B driving licence.

A bonus, but not essential: experience with industrial cameras and lighting, 3D vision, edge hardware such as NVIDIA Jetson, or integration with PLCs and robots.

Benefits & conditions

A competitive salary, including holiday pay and an end-of-year bonus which you can utilise in a tax-efficient manner via our cafeteria plan.

Non-statutory benefits

  • A mobility budget or a company car with a fuel card or charging card, or a commuting allowance.
  • Meal vouchers and eco-vouchers.
  • A mobile phone and mobile internet subscription.
  • Group insurance and hospitalisation insurance.
  • A monthly expense allowance.
  • A collective group bonus (CLA 90) after a certain length of service.

Growth and development

  • Training and clear career paths.
  • A varied role that you help shape (job crafting).
  • Autonomy and scope for initiative.

Work-life balance

  • An open, close-knit company culture with short lines of communication and a party team.
  • Flexible working hours and the option to work from home on days when you’re not visiting a client.
  • 32 days’ leave that you can choose freely.
  • You’ll be based at our head office in Roeselare and may occasionally work from our office in Ghent.

About the company

Would you like to see how your solution literally makes a machine smarter? As a Computer Vision Engineer at Vintecc, you’ll build vision solutions from concept to working installation. You’ll spend most of your time working from the office, alongside your colleagues, on the software and AI models behind your project. When the project requires it, you’ll visit the site: to map out the process at the client’s premises, calibrate camera systems or commission your solution. This way, you’ll see with your own eyes how your work makes a difference on the production line.

About Vintecc’s Vision Team

Vintecc is driving industrial innovation with AI and bespoke software. With over 70 colleagues in Roeselare and Ghent, we work for leading companies in the food, agriculture, steel, textiles and logistics sectors.

From real-time object detection, tracking and sorting using high-resolution cameras to 3D volume measurements with lidar: the Vision Team gives existing installations the ‘eyes’ that enable operators to gain the right insights. The majority of the team consists of engineers like you: hands-on, keen to be on the shop floor and engage directly with customers.
