Job description

We provide managed IT services to schools across Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire from our office in Watford. We’re looking for a capable, motivated individual to provide onsite support for our growing customer base of schools.

We believe that people skills are just as important as technical skills, so we are not looking for ‘technical experts’ but someone who can empathise and communicate well with our customers and who can explain technical issues in simple terms.

About the Role:

You’ll work across our school client sites, where you will take ownership of all things technical, providing on-site support to staff and ensuring technology works. You’ll be the person teachers and office staff come to when they need help, and the engineer they trust to get things working. This is a varied role - no 2 days will be the same.

You’ll manage your workload, build genuine relationships with the people you support, and see problems through to resolution.

You must have a full UK drivers licence - company vehicle will be provided.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in hands-on IT support, ideally field-based or across multiple client sites
  • Confident working independently at a client site and holding the client relationship day-to-day
  • Someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and takes pride in making their working day easier
  • Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Windows 10/11
  • Intune, Group Policy, and Windows Server experience desirable
  • Able to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues without relying on escalation for routine problems
  • Networking fundamentals: DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication with non-technical staff and the ability to manage expectations
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in schools or education environments
  • Experience with print management, VoIP, or enterprise wireless platforms

Personal Attributes:

  • Patient, understanding and calm under pressure
  • Hard working, honest and responsible
  • A team player
  • Keen to learn and happy to accept feedback
  • Good time-keeping and the ability to prioritise work-load, * Technical support: 2 years (preferred)
