Business Software Business Systems Data Mapping Shopify Product Software Implementation Methods

Job description

Rock 30 Games is hiring a Business Systems Manager to manage the software and compliance backbone of a growing multi-location retail and ecommerce business. You’ll administer our POS, inventory, and ecommerce platforms, lead new system rollouts, own our state and federal filing calendar, and be the person who makes sure our tools actually work., * Our business systems. You’ll be the administrator and internal expert for our POS, inventory management, multi-marketplace ecommerce, and ecommerce storefront platforms - configuration, troubleshooting, and making them work together.

  • New system rollouts. We’re in the middle of migrating to a new multi-marketplace ecommerce platform. You’ll help lead it: data mapping, testing, cutover, and training. There will be more projects after this one.
  • Requirements and testing. We have an in-house developer. You’ll define what needs to be built and why, write it up clearly enough to be built from, and verify it works before it goes live.
  • Compliance and filings. You’ll own the calendar for state and federal obligations - annual reports, sales tax across multiple ND jurisdictions, payroll filings, and related requirements. Nothing gets missed.
  • Vendor coordination. You’ll be our point of contact with our managed IT provider, software vendors, our accountant, and our insurance and retirement providers.
  • Day-to-day support. When something breaks in one of our applications, you’re who people come to.
  • Accounts payable. Entering invoices and processing bill payments, working with our outside accountant.

What we’re looking for

  • You’ve learned a complex business system on your own - an ERP, POS, WMS, or similar - and can walk us through something you configured, fixed, or migrated
  • You can take a vague business problem and turn it into clear, specific requirements someone else could execute from
  • You test things properly. You think about bad data, edge cases, and what happens when something fails halfway through
  • You’ve owned deadlines that mattered and have a system for tracking them
  • You’re comfortable saying “I don’t know yet, let me find out” - a good part of this job is figuring things out
  • You’ll push a vendor when a ticket is going nowhere, * Which business software systems have you administered or configured? Include POS, ERP, inventory, or ecommerce platforms, and briefly describe what you did with each.
  • Describe a time you had to learn a business software system without formal training. How did you go about it?
  • How do you make sure something works correctly before other people start using it?

Requirements

Hands-on experience with NCR CounterPoint, Sellercloud, or Shopify is a plus, but not required. We’d rather hire someone who learns systems quickly than someone who knows one platform., * Administering a business software system: 2 years (Required)

  • Software implementation or migration: 1 year (Required)

Ability to Commute:

  • Bismarck, ND 58501 (Required)

Benefits & conditions

  • $70,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Health insurance
  • SIMPLE IRA with company match
  • Paid time off
  • Employee discount
  • Monday-Friday, standard business hours. Occasional evening or weekend work during system cutovers and migrations, planned in advance
  • Based at our Bismarck warehouse, with occasional travel to our store locations

Rock 30 Games is an equal opportunity employer.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year, * Dental insurance

  • Employee discount
  • Health insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Retirement plan
  • Vision insurance

About the company

Rock 30 Games buys, sells, and trades video games and gaming products. We have five retail stores across North Dakota, a repair department, and a Bismarck warehouse that supports it all. We also sell through Shopify and a range of ecommerce marketplaces. We’re a 70+ person company - about 40 of us work out of the warehouse. Small enough that what you build matters immediately. Big enough that the systems are genuinely complex.
