Web Engineer (Fullstack)

Walmart is looking for a hands-on Web Engineer to support the modernization of customer-facing web applications, including experiences similar to the Walmart Collectibles Draw page.

This engineer will primarily focus on front-end development, building and modernizing reusable web components within Walmart’s React/Next.js environment. The ideal candidate is very strong with React and Next.js and understands how to integrate with GraphQL APIs, including how data is retrieved from backend services and consumed by front-end components.

This is a highly hands-on development role for someone comfortable working across the web application stack, troubleshooting performance issues, reviewing code, and building scalable, responsive customer-facing experiences.

4 years of overall development experience Strong hands-on Next.js experience Strong hands-on React development experience Experience building reusable front-end components Solid understanding of GraphQL APIs, including: Consuming data from GraphQL APIs Understanding how API data flows into front-end components Integrating front-end applications with backend services Strong JavaScript development experience Strong HTML and CSS fundamentals Experience building responsive, dynamic web applications Experience debugging, optimizing, and reviewing production-level code Understanding of browser performance, memory management, and browser storage Experience working within modern, large-scale web applications
