Job description
- Provide network support by investigating connectivity issues and assisting with equipment troubleshooting across Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and IP networking environments.
- Help configure and maintain network hardware, including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs; exposure to Cisco ASA, Meraki, Juniper, or Cisco ISE is useful.
- Monitor network performance and security using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Splunk; escalate alerts and document findings.
- Assist with routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP, and services including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, QoS, and VoIP.
- Your impact: By resolving network issues promptly and escalating risks clearly, you help colleagues maintain access to the systems and services they need.
Requirements
- Foundational knowledge of computer networking, network protocols, network switching, routing, VPN configuration, firewall concepts, and network security.
- Familiarity with Windows, Linux (such as Ubuntu, Debian, or CentOS), macOS, or UNIX; experience with system administration is helpful.
- Exposure to authentication, Active Directory, LDAP, SSO, encryption, PKI, vulnerability assessment, or cloud security is preferred.
- Scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell, or Bash is a plus; familiarity with AWS, Azure, VMware, Ansible, Agile, or ITIL is also useful.
- Associate or bachelor’s study in computer science, IT, or a related field is preferred; data center, SAN, load balancing, telecommunication, or network installation experience is an advantage.
