Job description
- Design, configure, and support local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), wireless networks, and network switching and routing, including Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP).
- Manage firewalls, virtual private networks (VPNs), Cisco ASA, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Meraki, Internet Protocol security (IPsec), authentication, encryption, public key infrastructure (PKI), and network security controls.
- Monitor performance and availability using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, and Splunk; troubleshoot equipment, protocols, load balancing, quality of service (QoS), and high-availability issues.
- Support data centers, storage area networks (SAN), VMware vSphere, cloud security, and Amazon Web Services (AWS); automate configuration with Ansible and scripting.
- Document network architecture and changes, assess vulnerabilities, and coordinate installations, network support, and technical troubleshooting across Agile and IT service management processes.
Requirements
- Demonstrated network engineering, administration, system design, and computer networking expertise, including Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), Ethernet, and voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
- Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, Juniper, VPN management, remote access, directory services such as Active Directory and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), and single sign-on (SSO).
- Working knowledge of Linux distributions (including Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, and openSUSE), UNIX/BSD, Windows, macOS, Solaris, and operating systems; familiarity with Java, SQL, Bash, and shell scripting is useful.
- Understanding of Secure Shell (SSH), Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS), Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), APIs, NFS, Citrix, virtualization, DevOps, and the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Computer science education or equivalent practical knowledge, data center experience, and strong engineering troubleshooting skills are preferred.
