Job description

We are looking for a SBAS Supervision Systems Engineer who will be in charge of real time monitoring and control of EGNOS V2 and V3 System under the ESSP responsibility. More particularly, he/she is in charge of the CCF (Central Control Facility) subsystem and of the EGNOS V3 ECS subsystem (EGNOS Common Server: which is the infrastructure of other subsystems including the EGNOS V3 CCF). He/She provides the technical expertise for the Assembly Integration, Validation test Platform (AIVP) and simulation platform related to EGNOS V2 and V3., Your main responsibilities/activities will be:

  • The submission and analysis of anomalies detected on the CCF subsystem and the tracking of their correction and qualification, in compliance with the anomalies management process,
  • Summarizing events for monthly client reports,
  • The specification of technical evolutions needs on CCF, and monitoring developments (with the review of industry documentation) brought to the EGNOS real time monitoring and control, answering the needs expressed by the Operator, by the client or by the System Design authority,
  • The technical maintenance of operational procedures and CCF maintenance procedures (updates needs analysis, realisation and updates validations),
  • The analysis of training needs and the validation of training materials for the CCF procedures,
  • Intervening in support of the other CCF Engineers on daily CCF corrective maintenance,
  • Contributing to the development of software tools and resources needed for the CCF and other subsystems maintenance and monitoring,
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of the EGNOS training simulators.

Regarding the EGNOS AIVP and simulation platform, he/she is responsible for:

  • The detection and analysis of any failure and/or abnormal event on the AIVP subsystem (writing of the corresponding “Observation Report”) and tracking of its correction and qualification as well as the development of “Operational Workaround”, Providing support on AIVP to the Engineering department,
  • AIVP tools development to automatise and to facilitate its use,
  • AIVP configurations generation,
  • Carrying out of the maintenance of the AIVP,
  • AIVP documentation review when developing new versions of EGNOS V3,
  • Providing expert support on simulation platforms (SPEED for EGNOS V2 and Test Bed for EGNOS V3): to the Engineering/Performance team for what regards the identification and analysis of anomalies related to the system administration of the platform and on any matter connected to the system administration of the platform.

Requirements

Do you have experience in UNIX?, For these activities, we are looking for an engineer (or equivalent degree) with at least 3 years’ experience on systems real time supervision, with a very good level of English (minimum B2)., * Team player

  • Able to assume responsibility
  • Strong analysis, synthesis and writing abilities
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft functions (Office, Project etc)
  • Fluent English (B2-C1) - CEFR

Specific Skills:

  • Good knowledge of: o Satellite ground segment system engineering and operation o Secure systems supervision (space or aeronautical systems in general) o Programming languages C/C++, JavaScript, Python, TCL o Linux command and scripts development (Bash, Awk, Unix commands…) o Linux computers and network administration, VM Hypervisors, TCP/IP network protocols o SSL, TLS, SFTP security protocols

  • Knowledge of software development standards and life cycles
  • Knowledge of EGNOS would be an asset

Subject to constraints of minimum presence during normal vacation periods (July/August, Christmas, February, Easter). Subject to on-call duty Human Resources information:
