Senior Data Center Technician

• Install, configure, and maintain fiber optic systems, structured cabling, and network wiring to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair telecommunications equipment, including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya systems, and VoIP solutions.
• Perform fiber splicing and termination to establish reliable high-speed data connections.
• Conduct network installation activities utilizing schematics, technical diagrams, and communication system blueprints.
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, cable testers, and RF testers to identify faults and resolve equipment issues.
• Support the setup and testing of low-voltage electrical wiring, AC/DC electrical systems, and power distribution units within data centers.
• Assist in the installation of telecommunication systems including CAT5/CAT6 cabling and network cabling infrastructure.
• Conduct routine inspections using CCTV cameras and other surveillance equipment to ensure security compliance.
• Perform routine maintenance on telephony systems, radio frequency (RF) testing devices, and other communication hardware.
• Collaborate with team members to execute service requests efficiently while maintaining high customer service standards.
• Maintain detailed documentation of installations, repairs, and system configurations for future reference.

• Extensive experience with fiber optic systems installation, splicing, and testing procedures.
• Proficiency in computer networking concepts including Ethernet protocols, LAN/WAN configurations, and network wiring standards.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems such as VoIP technology, telephony hardware (including Avaya), and Cisco routers.
• Ability to interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and wiring diagrams accurately.
• Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools including ohmmeters, cable testers, RF testers, and telecommunications testing equipment.
• Familiarity with low-voltage electrical wiring codes such as NEC standards; experience with electrical troubleshooting is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with structured cabling installation using Cat5/Cat6 cables; cable termination skills are essential.
• Knowledge of network security practices related to CCTV surveillance systems and access control hardware.
• Demonstrated ability to perform equipment troubleshooting and repair efficiently under minimal supervision.
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
• Technical proficiency in computer hardware setup and maintenance within data center environments.
• Experience working with service technicians on complex projects involving network installation or telecommunications system deployment.
