Application Security Architect

• Design and implement technical changes for secure gateway environments
• Produce solution and change designs in line with customer requirements
• Work with Solution Architects, Engineering Leads, and Project Managers to deliver technical outcomes
• Support Security Operations Centre (SOC) and third-line teams with troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Maintain platform availability, resilience, and performance
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and operational stakeholders
• Support design reviews, documentation, and governance activities
• Provide technical leadership, support architectural change, troubleshoot complex issues, and help ensure the continued availability and performance of critical security platforms

• XML, We are recruiting an Application Security Architect to join a highly skilled team delivering critical cyber and secure infrastructure projects. The role is based in Bracknell, with regular travel to London and the South West, and offers a salary of £75,000, a bonus, and a car allowance. You will work on major programmes shaping secure gateway solutions in a highly regulated environment, collaborating with Solution Architects, Engineering Leads, SOC teams, and operational support functions. • Must be eligible for high-level Security Clearance
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables
• Flexible approach and willingness to travel regularly across London and the South West
• Strong design and development background, ideally within secure or regulated environments
• Essential technical experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Windows Server, VMware vSphere, and SMTP/email infrastructure
• Preferred experience in areas such as Cross Domain Solutions, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), VMware technologies, shell scripting, regular expressions (Regex), Active Directory, DNS, standards such as RFC, XEP and ISO, file transfer technologies, LDIF, XML and JSON schemas, and PKI and certificate management
• Desirable skills include firewall technologies, Syslog, XMPP chat platforms, secure email solutions, enterprise messaging technologies, and LDIF administration
