• Strong experience in Java development, including Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Experience with REST APIs, OpenAPI, JSON, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate, and Flyway.
• Experience with Apache Kafka, Amazon MSK, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with AWS services, including API Gateway, ECS, CloudWatch, CodePipeline, and Secrets Manager.
• Experience with Docker, Docker Compose, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, Maven, and GitLab CI/CD.
• Knowledge of JUnit 5, automated testing, software architecture, and common design patterns.
• Collaborative, proactive approach, with problem-solving ability, good communication skills, and an interest in continuous improvement and emerging technologies.
• Desirable: experience developing high-volume transactional systems or complex enterprise applications, integrating third-party services and external APIs, or using AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, TypeScript, CloudWatch monitoring, performance analysis, or certificate-based authentication.

The Senior Software Engineer will join our clients collaborative Glasgow development team of Software Engineers, Architects, Test Engineers, and Project Managers, helping develop and enhance its technology platforms. The role offers varied projects, opportunities to influence technical decisions, take ownership, and develop technical expertise. The current technology stack includes Spring Boot 4.
