Job description
Workstream Leadership & Solution Ownership
- Take ownership of Oracle HCM reporting, extracts and integration workstreams, including plans, priorities, dependencies, milestones, testing, cutover and production readiness.
- Lead customer workshops and translate business and functional requirements into technical solutions using OTBI, BI Publisher, HCM Extracts, APIs, file interfaces and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
- Collaborate with HCM, Payroll, Security, Data Migration, Testing and external application teams to manage dependencies, risks and technical decisions through to resolution.
- Review technical deliverables produced by other developers while retaining hands-on responsibility for complex design and development activities.
BI Publisher, OTBI & SQL
- Design, develop and support Oracle BI Publisher reports and data models using complex SQL, parameters, List of Values (LOVs), RTF/Excel/eText templates, bursting, scheduling and report delivery.
- Develop OTBI analyses and dashboards, including prompts, calculations and scheduled outputs using relevant HCM and Payroll subject areas.
- Write, debug and optimise SQL for reporting, reconciliation and issue investigation.
- Troubleshoot report failures, performance issues, missing data, formatting problems, security restrictions, effective-dating discrepancies and scheduling or delivery defects.
HCM Extracts & Outbound Interfaces
- Design, develop and support Oracle HCM Extracts, including data groups, records, attributes, parameters, output structures, schedules and delivery options.
- Work with delivered and user-defined database entities and Fast Formula where appropriate.
- Implement full and incremental (changes-only) extraction patterns to meet business and downstream application requirements.
- Develop outbound files in required formats and validate and reconcile extract results against Oracle Fusion source data.
- Optimise high-volume extracts and resolve incomplete, failed or long-running processes.
Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC)
- Design, develop and support scheduled, application-driven and orchestration-based integrations using appropriate OIC adapters and connectivity patterns.
- Build integration mappings, lookups, transformations, branching, looping, data enrichment, file handling and orchestration logic.
- Integrate Oracle Fusion with internal and external applications using REST/SOAP services, file-based interfaces and SFTP.
- Implement robust fault handling, retries, tracking, business identifiers, duplicate prevention, recovery and diagnostic logging.
- Design integrations with consideration for payload size, pagination, batching, throughput, idempotency and restartability, particularly for high-volume interfaces.
Testing, Production Support & Governance
- Prepare unit-testing evidence and support SIT, UAT, data reconciliation, defect triage, regression testing, deployment, cutover and post-go-live hypercare.
- Investigate and resolve issues using OIC monitoring, Oracle Fusion logs, SQL queries and report/extract outputs, identifying root causes across source data, configuration, security, integration and target systems.
- Coordinate with customer security and infrastructure teams on service accounts, credentials, certificates, SFTP connectivity and environment-specific endpoints.
- Maintain technical design documents, mappings, report and interface catalogues, deployment records, operational runbooks, monitoring and recovery procedures.
