Cloud Platform Engineer

Our client is investing in the evolution of its cloud environment and is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to support that effort. This individual will play a hands-on role in improving infrastructure through automation, increasing system reliability, and helping teams adopt more modern deployment and operational practices.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

You’ll split your time between building new capabilities and improving what already exists. Key areas include:

• Designing and refining AWS-based infrastructure to support highly available applications
• Writing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to drive consistency across environments
• Automating provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks using scripting (Python, Bash, etc.)
• Evaluating current-state platforms and implementing improvements around resiliency, efficiency, and scalability
• Partnering with development teams to support adoption of CI/CD and better deployment practices
• Contributing to efforts that modernize legacy systems, including containerization and cloud-native approaches
• Strengthening monitoring and observability using tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, or similar

• Several years of hands-on experience building and supporting cloud infrastructure in AWS environments
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform (or equivalent tooling used at scale)
• Experience developing automation through scripting (Python, Bash, or similar) to reduce manual operational work
• Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and their use in modern application platforms
• Experience implementing or supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows
• Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Grafana, Dynatrace) to improve reliability and performance
• Working experience within Agile teams applying DevOps or DevSecOps practices
