Job description

The Technology Role is responsible for supporting specifically defined elements of the technological aspects of parish operations including parish hardware and network with a primary responsibility for user software/technology support and training, answering software program questions, conducting computer maintenance, managing user logins and operation and use of the church’s livestreaming processes and equipment, the church website, signage, safety camera system, apps, video production. LONG TERM POTENTIAL The Technology Role is responsible for supporting specifically defined elements of the church’s livestreaming processes and equipment, the church website, signage, safety camera system, direct mail, email, social media, web postings, apps, podcasts, video production and other platforms. This role is responsible for the technological aspects of parish operations including parish hardware and network with a primary responsibility for user software/technology support and training, answering software program questions, conducting computer maintenance, managing user logins and upgrades. Someone in this role must have a heart for the church, a love of Jesus and a desire to serve the people and ministries of the church., 1. To ensure our livestream product is high performing (teaching volunteer AV operators how to operate the system)

  1. To learn and effectively implement use of a Martin Security Camera Software.
  2. Administrator of our new phone system
  3. To streamline Res Web so that it is user friendly and in-line with our mission
  4. To evaluate the value and performance of our parish app
  5. To engage with a Res Communications Committee Actions required to be consistent with Culture and Values:

Technology (oversee, contract or perform)

  • Establishes and maintains appropriate IT infrastructure, security and network connectivity
  • Establishes and maintains staff workstations and software - provides training as necessary
  • Establishes and maintains software for centralized facility scheduling, ministry scheduling, liturgical and sacramental scheduling
  • Establishes and maintains adequate visual and audio devices and technology throughout the church facilities
  • Work as part of the worship team to help execute the church’s weekly live stream and other special events
  • Maintain effective systems of quality control for all marketing and communication material the church produces
  • Effectively manage the expense and staffing budgets for the department
  • Supports and maintains parishes online branding through technology, marketing and messaging (website, and social media)
  • Effectively manage a team of full time and part-time staff, and volunteer content creators and content managers in a manner that supports our missions and aligns with our values, mission planning and operating practices

Stewardship

  • Creates and maintains parish ministry marketing brochures, ministry volunteerism, etc.

Assist with other duties as assigned ADA Physical/Visual/Mental Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle objects, reach with hands and arms; and talk.
  • Requires use of office equipment including telephone, computer, fax, copy machine.
  • Close vision required for computer work.
  • May view a computer screen for long periods.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision.

Typical Working Conditions and Hours of Work: Person in this position will work in an inside office environment alone at times and frequently with a group; normal hours for the short term period will be 10 hours a week, not to exceed 20 hours in a 2 weeks pay period (without prior approval). The person will work well in a Fast paced environment with daily/weekly deadlines. Nature of Supervision Received: Receives minimal supervision, but interacts regularly with the pastor. Judgment Exercised/Decisions Made: Considerable judgment and independent decisions making is required regarding compliance to policies. Decisions are moderately complex. Requires ability to thoroughly investigate and analyze problems and recommend the proper course of action. Requires ability to follow through on all projects. Prioritization and organization is necessary in order to meet deadlines. Judgment and tact must be used in communication of policies and procedures. Financial Responsibility: Responsible for effective use of budgeted resources.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Website design projects?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Communications

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Marketing and Communications
  • A background in theology or pastoral ministry will be preferred but not required
  • Exhibit a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit and active participation in fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 18-20)

  • Strong marketing and design project management experience
  • Phenomenal written and verbal communication skills required
  • Interpersonal skills that are welcoming and relationship-focused
  • Proven ability to be a team player as well as a thoughtful, effective coach
  • Experience in graphics, web design, print media, content marketing, video production, copywriting, social media marketing
  • Experience with IT and user-end use of technology infrastructures at a mid-level or higher
  • Understanding of user perspectives and ability to suggest effective solutions
  • Experience with planning, organization, and deployment
  • Microsoft 365
  • Communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills to understand various business functions and requirements.
  • Demonstrate a consultative approach to working with ministry partners
  • Demonstrate a capacity for continuous improvement and innovation in church communication
  • As a lifelong learner, this person will effectively engage in ongoing education, networking, and research to remain relevant and informed with church communication trends and best practices
  • Exhibit a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry by conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations
  • Active church membership-supported with consistent attendance and participation in the life of the church
