Job description

Wayside Presbyterian Church is seeking a dependable, tech-savvy, and ministry-minded Director of Technology to oversee and support the church’s worship technology, livestream systems, IT infrastructure, and digital communication tools.

The primary responsibility of this position is managing Sunday morning sound, video, livestream, and internet systems during worship services to help provide a smooth and distraction-free worship experience for both in-person and online attendees.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technology with ministry and is comfortable troubleshooting and managing live production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all Sunday morning sound, video, projection, livestream, and internet systems during worship services
  • Monitor and troubleshoot livestream and internet connectivity during live services
  • Provide hands-on audio/visual technical oversight during worship services and rehearsals
  • Support special events with AV technical assistance based on availability
  • Ensure all worship technology systems are tested, prepared, and functioning properly before services and events
  • Maintain and troubleshoot church technology equipment, including:
  • Soundboards
  • Cameras
  • Computers
  • Projectors
  • Displays and related hardware
  • Manage church IT systems, software platforms, and network infrastructure
  • Provide technical support and training for church staff and volunteers
  • Recruit, supervise, and coordinate tech volunteers
  • Evaluate and recommend technology improvements that support ministry goals and church communication needs

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technology manager experience?, * Experience with audio/visual systems, livestreaming, or worship technology preferred

  • Basic IT and network troubleshooting skills
  • Strong aural skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot calmly and effectively in live environments
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Reliable and dependable with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, worship teams, and volunteers
  • Experience with church production systems or livestream platforms is highly valued

  • Wednesday evening rehearsal attendance preferred when available
  • Additional event support based on availability and church needs, * upwards to $25/hr depending on experience
  • Compensation based on experience and technical skill level
  • Part-time position
  • No benefits included beyond those outlined in the employee handbook, Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
