The Part time Media Classroom Support Technician will work in collaboration with the rest of the Media Services team to provide audio/visual (AV) support for the campus with an eye on maintaining a high level of customer service The position also involves support for campus events scheduled through the college’s Conference Services team. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform audio/visual (AV) deliveries and setups in classrooms and other campus locations.
- Support campus events involving microphone and audiovisual setups, assisting clients with presentations.
- Work collaboratively with the Media Services team in maintaining AV systems in classrooms.
- Respond to trouble calls in the classroom related to AV.
- Data entry to track classroom deliveries, event setups, and trouble calls.
- Increase skill competencies, as assigned, in the areas pertaining to video and video conferencing (Zoom) in the classroom.
- Work seamlessly with all Media Services staff (day and evening), including Coordinator of Classroom Technology.
- Work cordially with any and all on campus.
- Regular attendance on campus is required for this position.
- Utilize technology, including AI-enabled tools and software where appropriate, to support the effective performance of assigned duties, enhance productivity, improve communication and information management, support decision-making, and other responsibilities, while ensuring compliance with confidentiality requirements, institutional policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Other duties as assigned. Hours/Schedule: This position will work no more than 25 hours per week. While there is some flexibility in scheduling, the job is for an 8:00am start time four days a week.
Requirements
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High School graduate or GED equivalent plus fifteen (15) credit hours of college level credits.
- Equivalent of one (1) year of related work experience.
- Basic familiarity with MS Office.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work with autonomy, and within a team unit.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Ability to frequently walk over entire campus for classroom and event support.
- Ability to work varying hours - morning, day, evening, and weekend hours.
- Ability to use workplace technology relevant to the position, including the capacity to learn and appropriately leverage emerging AI-supported tools. Ability to assess the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated content, maintain confidentiality, and apply sound judgment and ethical practices in the use of technology.
Preferred Qualifications: Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with and troubleshooting classroom AV equipment such as document cameras, data projectors and other related technologies.
- Experience working with Zoom video conferencing.
- Experience with video shooting and editing.
