Job description

Summary: The Senior Azure Cloud Engineer will support the modernization, migration, engineering, and operational sustainment of enterprise infrastructure within a large-scale federal hybrid cloud environment.

This is a senior-level, hands-on engineering role requiring deep expertise in Azure infrastructure, cloud automation, platform operations, and hybrid connectivity. The engineer will support enterprise-scale Azure environments leveraging native Azure services, ExpressRoute, VPN connectivity, Terraform-based Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD integration, and observability tooling.

The environment operates within a multi-cloud strategy consisting primarily of Microsoft Azure and AWS, with Azure serving as the dominant enterprise hosting platform. The engineer will work within established architectural patterns and governance standards while collaborating with cloud engineering, operations, networking, security, and application teams to improve automation, reliability, scalability, and operational consistency across cloud platforms.

The ideal candidate is a technically mature cloud engineer capable of operating independently in complex production environments, aggressively automating operational tasks, supporting enterprise migration activities, and helping mature long-term cloud operational capabilities.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Tooling?, · 7+ years of infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or cloud engineering experience

· 4+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering experience supporting production enterprise environments

Hands-on expertise with:

· Azure networking concepts including VNets, NSGs, routing, load balancing, ExpressRoute, and VPN connectivity

· Identity and access management concepts including RBAC, Entra ID, and hybrid identity integration

· Azure governance including Policy, tagging, subscriptions, cost management, and operational standards

· Infrastructure-as-Code utilizing Terraform (required)

· CI/CD pipeline integration for infrastructure deployment and automation

· Monitoring and observability using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics

· Cloud automation using scripting and Azure-native tooling

· Strong troubleshooting experience across networking, identity, compute, storage, and monitoring domains

· Working knowledge of AWS core infrastructure services including networking, compute, identity, and monitoring

· Ability to work independently while collaborating across engineering and operations teams

Preferred Experience

· Supporting federal or regulated enterprise environments

· Supporting enterprise cloud migration initiatives at scale

· Supporting enterprise observability and operational maturity initiatives

· Experience with Datadog

· Experience with Azure VMware Solution (AVS) and Azure Landing Zones

Certifications

· Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred)

· HashiCorp Terraform Certification (preferred)

· AWS Associate-level certification (preferred)

Non-Negotiable Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate:

· Hands-on experience supporting production Azure environments at enterprise scale

· Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience utilizing Terraform

· Demonstrated cloud automation experience

· Operational experience supporting hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments

· Strong troubleshooting capability within live production environments, * Due to the government nature of this project, US Citizenship is required, do you meet this requirement?

  • Are you eligible to obtain a Public Trust Clearance?
  • Do you have hands-on experience supporting production Azure environments at enterprise scale?
  • Do you have strong Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform?
