Job description

The Ruby on Rails Developer is responsible for developing new applications, enhancing existing applications, and interfacing with a legacy ERP system. The Ruby on Rails Developer works closely with the Business Systems Manager, Information Systems team, and IT Manager to create applications that improve productivity across the business., * Write, clean, maintainable, and efficient code

  • Design robust, scalable, and secure features
  • Analyzes business application requirements and user specifications
  • Works closely with legacy ERP developers to integrate and interface ERP functionality on the Ruby platform
  • Assists in writing Statements of Work for application programming
  • Ensures that application development aligns with Statement of Work and minimizes scope creep
  • Estimates project timelines, identifies complexity, and communicates effectively in all phases of the project
  • Revises and updates applications and documentation as required
  • Documents code and systems
  • Performs any other task as requested by Manager

Requirements

Do you have experience in Writing skills?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred

  • 2+ Years of Ruby on Rails experience required
  • 2+ Years of Vue.js or similar front end framework
  • Experience with Git, GitLab, or GitHub
  • Experience with test-driven development a plus
  • Knowledge of Linux and command line tools
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP Systems and other Database programs, preferred
  • Knowledge of network concepts and principles including operating systems, security, and advanced protocol
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analysis
  • Strong project management skills
