UNCOMN is seeking an Integration/API Engineer (Software Developer 4) to:
- Design, build, and support application interfaces using APIs, file exchange, web services, and event-driven patterns.
- Modernize existing integrations to improve reliability, observability, and maintainability.
- Partner with application, data, and platform teams to define interface requirements and implementation approaches.
- Support secure data exchange, error handling, retry logic, and interface monitoring across environments.
- Contribute to integration documentation, interface mapping, and test support needed for successful delivery.
- Troubleshoot integration defects and help teams resolve issues across connected systems and services.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Web services design?, * 8+ years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, CMIS, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or 4 additional years of related experience.
- Hands-on experience building or supporting APIs and system-to-system integrations.
- Working knowledge of interface patterns such as REST APIs, file exchange, and web service integration.
- Experience designing or implementing reliable message handling, validation, and error management.
- Ability to collaborate across technical teams to define, build, and support shared interfaces.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills in multi-system environments.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance or similar, granted by the U.S. Government, which requires U.S. citizenship. The government also uses 13 adjudicative guidelines to determine an individual’s eligibility.
- Must be willing to obtain relevant certifications as required by future client or contract needs.
Preferred
- Experience with event-driven processing or cloud-native integration services.
- Experience with application modernization efforts that involve file, API, or interface redesign.
- Exposure to financial, federal, or other mission-critical transaction environments.
- Candidates local to the St. Louis Metro East market/within commuting distance preferred, although not required.
