UNCOMN is seeking a Cloud Solution Architect to:
- Define target-state solution architecture and modernization strategy for AWS GovCloud application environments.
- Serve as the design authority for cloud-native patterns, service decomposition, integration boundaries, and technology tradeoffs.
- Guide modernization roadmaps that balance security, resilience, maintainability, delivery speed, and cost.
- Align application, data, infrastructure, and security decisions across the broader delivery team.
- Translate client needs into practical architecture decisions and communicate those decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support architecture reviews, implementation guidance, and issue resolution throughout delivery.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Technology security practices?, * 15+ years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, CMIS, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or 4 additional years of related experience.
- Experience leading solution architecture for cloud modernization or large-scale application transformation efforts.
- Strong working knowledge of AWS architecture patterns, modern application design, and secure delivery practices.
- Ability to decompose legacy capabilities into supportable cloud-native services, interfaces, and operating models.
- Experience making architecture decisions in environments with high security, compliance, or operational constraints.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to align stakeholders around solution direction and tradeoffs.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance or similar, granted by the U.S. Government, which requires U.S. citizenship. The government also uses 13 adjudicative guidelines to determine an individual’s eligibility.
- Must be willing to obtain relevant certifications as required by future client or contract needs., * AWS architecture certification(s), especially Solutions Architect credentials.
- Experience with AWS GovCloud, FedRAMP-aligned environments, or comparable regulated cloud environments.
- Experience supporting Java, Oracle, or COTS modernization initiatives.
- Candidates local to the St. Louis Metro East market/within commuting distance preferred, although not required.
