Job description
We are seeking a motivated and eager Cybersecurity Admin to join our security team. This entry-level role is designed for candidates who want hands-on experience in modern enterprise cybersecurity. You will support the monitoring, protection, and management of our Microsoft 365 security environment, focusing on Microsoft Defender, Intune, and Entra ID.
This is a fantastic opportunity to build foundational skills in endpoint protection, identity security, device management, and threat response under the mentorship of a senior cyber professional., * Assist with daily monitoring and triage of security alerts in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Microsoft 365 Defender
- Help investigate and respond to potential security incidents under senior analyst guidance
- Support device compliance and configuration management using Microsoft Intune
- Aid in identity and access management tasks within Entra ID (user access reviews, conditional access policies, MFA enforcement)
- Contribute to vulnerability management and patch compliance reporting
- Document processes and maintain accurate records
- Participate in security awareness activities and team projects
- Learn and follow established security policies, procedures, and best practices
What You Will Learn:
- Real-world use of Microsoft’s leading security tools (Defender, Intune, Entra ID)
- Fundamentals of endpoint detection & response (EDR), identity threat detection, and Zero Trust principles
- Professional communication and teamwork in a cybersecurity environment
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, This position is subject to the residency requirements of the SBA Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) program. The successful candidate must reside in a HUBZone-qualified area at the time of hire and for the duration of their employment., * Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Basic understanding of networking, operating systems (Windows), and cloud concepts
- Strong desire to learn and curiosity about cybersecurity
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Preferred (but not required):
- Familiarity with any Microsoft 365 services
- Any security-related certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-900) - a big plus!
- Previous IT support, helpdesk, or personal projects involving cybersecurity
