Job description

We are looking for a mid-level full stack Java developer to join the Fixed Income Trading team. This individual should have a passion to develop innovative solutions, ability to simplify complex business requirements and design to deliver an end-to-end technology solution is key to success in this role. Fixed Income also know as Schwab Bond Source team provides a comprehensive Fixed Income trading platform to Schwab’s internal and external clients (schwab.com, Schwab Advisor Center) as well as external dealer and regulatory agency systems. The team’s mission is to deliver the best in class trading experience to Schwab’s internal and external clients. Our goal is to deliver, high security, high availability and excellent customer service by ensuring the three systems are well maintained and continuously enhanced to meet the needs of our clients. The team is a high performing team reflective of the demands of the environment, it is a friendly, supportive and rewarding environment As a member of the development team you will participate in the design and implementation of web and standalone applications using core Java / J2EE, Angular and modern technologies to support large, complex, high-demand trading applications. * Strong experience with Core Java/J2EE application technical design, hands on programming, and delivery

  • Work with the Product Owners and Enterprise Architects to develop enhancements and new features
  • Work with peer teams to get oriented to the application modernization road map and learn the new technology stack
  • Conduct code reviews and manage code quality
  • Hands-on experience in writing unit, integration test cases, and developing CI/CD pipeline
  • Actively participate in release planning and lead projects, participate in mentoring junior staff
  • Ensure the highest quality software is developed, delivered and maintained.

Requirements

Do you have experience in XSLT?, 8 + years of experience in distributed systems development using Java/JEE, Web Services, JMS, MQ, Servlets, JSP, Cocoon, JSF, JDBC, Web/Application servers (WebSphere), XML, XSLT, Oracle SQL and PL/SQL

  • 1+ year of Schwab technology domain experience gained as a current or recent contractor or employee
  • Expert in QuickFix Engines, FIX protocol, RTTM regulatory reporting systems and Fixed Income trading Event sourcing Architecture
  • Web development experience with Angular JS and modern web UI technologies (HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, etc)
  • Strong knowledge of Spring framework and REST/SOAP based web services development
  • Responsible for analyzing both business and system requirements to create high level and detailed design documents.
  • Responsible for the quality of the code written by offshore teams by ensuring proper design reviews, code reviews, unit testing and integration testing.
  • Knowledge and experience in the financial services industry, FIX protocol, RTTM regulatory reporting systems and Fixed Income trading knowledge is a plus
