Job description
- Onsite Installation: Mount, wire, and configure physical tech stacks at customer locations, including POS terminals, receipt printers, cash drawers, KDS (Kitchen Display Systems), and network deployments.
- Specialized Equipment Configuration: Build, calibrate, and service specialized retail and grocery equipment, including digital retail scales and integrated auto-wrappers.
- Physical Security & Comm Systems: Assist with the physical mounting, aiming, and backend configuration of IP security camera systems and commercial VoIP phone setups.
IT Infrastructure & Networking
- Network Deployment: Run low-voltage cabling, crimp connections, mount access points, and set up local network hardware (routers, switches, controllers) to ensure rock-solid network stability for critical payment environments.
- Infrastructure Management: Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity issues, configure VLANs for secure payment processing isolation, and optimize Wi-Fi coverage for mobile devices and guest networks.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Help Desk Operations: Diagnose and resolve incoming support tickets via phone, remote desktop tools, or onsite visits, focusing on minimized downtime for businesses.
- Software Troubleshooting: Support proprietary POS databases, payment gateways, age-verification software integrations, and tobacco rebate tracking modules, ect.
Customer Consultation & Training
- Staff Training: Lead onsite training sessions for client management and frontline employees, teaching them how to confidently navigate their new software, run reports, and manage daily operations.
- Empathetic Service: Act as a calm, helpful expert for stressed business operators experiencing tech disruptions during peak hours.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driverās License license?, Do you have experience in WAN?, If you love variety, enjoy solving puzzles under pressure, and take pride in helping a local restaurant or grocer stay up and running, youāll fit right in., * Technical Foundations: 1-3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, low-voltage networking, or field service tech roles (experience specifically with Point of Sale systems is a massive plus).
- Networking Savvy: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switches, routers, and basic wireless network design.
- Handy & Resourceful: Comfortable using hand tools, running network cable, working on ladders, and handling mechanical components (like thermal printers or scale assemblies).
- The āOperator Mindsetā: Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical fixes in plain language to kitchen managers, store clerks, or business owners.
- Mobility: Must possess a valid driverās license and a reliable vehicle for regional travel to client sites. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs+ of hardware occasionally.
- Adaptable Schedule: Flexibility to participate in an on-call rotation for emergency evening or weekend support, as our clients operate outside of standard 9-to-5 hours.
