Job description

We are seeking skilled and motivated Network Systems Technicians to join our team! The ideal candidate will possess a basic understanding of computer networking principles, an interest in pursuing a career in IT, and system administration practices. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development and support of robust IT infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform basic testing on network switches and fiber connections
  • Test, validate, and troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • Verify port assignments and ensure systems are working properly
  • Record and submit test results accurately
  • Label and document cables and network components
  • Identify and verify cable types and color codes (fiber and copper)
  • Work from service tickets to complete assigned tasks
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors on progress
  • Support ongoing projects in data centers and client sites
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Participate in safety meetings and training
  • Work in a variety of environments, including data centers and construction sites

Requirements

  • No prior experience required - training will be provided
  • Interest in technology, networking, or hands-on work (gamers, computer builders, etc. wanted!)
  • Fiber splicing skills are highly desired (not necessary - huge plus)
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new tools
  • Ability to work on ladders or lifts when needed
  • Eager to learn and grow in a technical field
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and documentation
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional
  • Comfortable working with your hands and in a fast-paced, high-security, or mission critical setting
  • A team player with a positive attitude
  • Willing to ask questions and learn new skills
  • Must be local to or able to commute to Columbus / New Albany, OH area
  • Must provide ASTM-rated composite toe boots (all other PPE provided)
  • Must pass background check and drug screening
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed, * High school or equivalent (Preferred), * Network audits : 1 year (Preferred)
  • Fiber splicing: 1 year (Preferred)
  • PC/Computer building : 1 year (Preferred)
