Job description

When the first machines power up, you’re already on the floor-fielding a dimensional nonconformance, conferring with a setup pro on fixturing, and partnering with an inspector to validate a measurement method. As parts move from first-piece approval to in-process checks to final acceptance, you’re the on-call problem solver who keeps tight-tolerance aerospace castings moving without compromising quality., * Immediate, hands-on response to production quality issues-right where the work happens.

  • Troubleshooting dimensional, cosmetic, tooling, fixturing, and process-related nonconformances alongside machinists, programmers, and inspectors.
  • Support for first-article/first-piece approvals, in-process inspections, final acceptance, and part over-inspections.
  • Risk-based review of machining processes; recommend and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead/support root cause analysis, MRB participation, and disposition of nonconforming material.
  • Containment, corrective action, and verification of effectiveness to prevent recurrence and sustain gains.
  • Customer complaint investigation and response support.
  • Compliance stewardship for AS9100, customer specifications, internal quality procedures, and NADCAP-related requirements (as applicable).
  • Internal, customer, and third-party audit assistance.
  • Upkeep and improvement of quality documentation, control plans, and inspection plans (including review/approval).
  • Data-driven analysis of scrap, rework, and defect trends to pinpoint improvement opportunities.
  • Collaboration with manufacturing engineering and operations to stabilize and elevate process capability.
  • CMM, gauging, and inspection troubleshooting; verification of measurement techniques and repeatability.
  • Gage selection, validation, and MSA activities.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Quality control within aerospace industry?, * Bachelor’s in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related technical field preferred; relevant Quality Technician (or similar) experience may substitute.

  • 3-5+ years in a quality function within an AS9100-certified environment (required).
  • Familiarity with AS13100 preferred; ASQ CQE is a plus.
  • Background with turbine components, complex castings, or tight-tolerance machining strongly preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience preferred.
