Job description

  • Develop and Integrate Software Solutions: Design, develop, test, and integrate software solutions into customer hardware and larger naval systems with a focus on innovation and scalability.
  • Containerized Solutions and Kubernetes Expertise: Lead efforts in containerized application development, Kubernetes deployment, and container orchestration to support composable disaggregated infrastructure (CDI) goals.
  • Collaboration and Problem Solving: Collaborate closely with a small, agile team of engineers (3-person team) to solve complex technical challenges through creative and efficient solutions.
  • Software Integration: Serve as the primary point of contact for integrating custom-developed software into customer enterprise hardware environments.
  • System Innovation: Apply cutting-edge development practices and innovative approaches to rapidly deliver solutions that push the boundaries of composable infrastructure systems.
  • Technical Collaboration: Work collaboratively with equipment designers, hardware engineers, systems analysts, and other professionals to plan and integrate software solutions.
  • Documentation and Maintenability: Provide thorough documentation of software changes, enhance system maintainability, and support software deployment and operational troubleshooting.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and troubleshoot software installations and ensure system components function as specified., Location Flexibility: Must be local to Northern Virginia and available to travel to team facilities in Manassas and Chantilly as required (~10% travel).
  • Team Collaboration: Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced engineering team (3 engineers), collaborating closely to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance

Requirements

Do you have experience in Systems integration?, Do you have a Master’s degree?, + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 2-4 years of experience.

  • Master’s degree with 0-2 years of experience.
  • 8-10 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree for highly qualified candidates. * Software Development and Integration Expertise: Demonstrated experience in end-to-end software development, including requirements analysis, programming, testing, and integration of software into larger systems.

  • Kubernetes and Container Proficiency:
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes and container technologies like Docker is essential.
  • Strong understanding of containerized environments, microservices architecture, and orchestration concepts. * Technical Skillset:

  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, or Go.
  • Experience with REST APIs, system integration, and software communication protocols is a plus.
  • Familiarity with composable and disaggregated infrastructure (CDI) is highly preferred.
