Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Network Technicians in Montgomery, AL. The Network Technician is responsible for the professional installation and maintenance of ISP network infrastructure, focusing on high-density rack and stack operations. The ideal candidate will possess specialized expertise in passive optical network (PON) or channel testing and have a proven track record of working on hyperscale data center projects., * Execute the physical installation of network hardware, including switches, routers, and patch panels within server racks.

  • Perform comprehensive passive optical network (PON) testing to verify signal integrity and network performance.
  • Conduct detailed channel testing for both fiber and copper network connections.
  • Manage the routing and organization of cabling within network distribution points and server racks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network connectivity issues, signal degradation, and hardware failures.
  • Maintain precise documentation for cable labeling, port mapping, and rack layouts.
  • Support the deployment and integration of new ISP network services and infrastructure expansion.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and industry best practices for network hardware handling and installation.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Equipment racks mounting?, * Proven experience with ‘Rack and Stack’ procedures in an ISP or data center environment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in passive optical network (PON) testing or channel testing.
  • Previous professional experience working at a META data center site (required for all traveling candidates).
  • Must be fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge of network infrastructure components and cabling standards.
  • Experience working on large-scale deployment projects within hyperscale environments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Must be able to work at heights and perform tasks from a ladder or elevated platform.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for long durations during equipment installation.
  • Must be able to see and distinguish between various color-coded cables and fibers.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and around active data center equipment.

  • Employee assistance program, The anticipated pay range for this position is $29 to $35 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
