Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Data Center Technician (Atlanta, GA) in Atlanta, GA. The Data Center Technician is responsible for supporting a large-scale fiber infrastructure project in Atlanta, GA, focusing on complex patching and bundled fiber installations. This Level 3 role requires a high degree of technical proficiency in fiber connectivity and the ability to execute precise deployments in a mission-critical environment., * Execute high-volume fiber patching from patch panel to patch panel, patch panel to device, and device to device.

  • Support the deployment and management of bundled fiber throughout the data center infrastructure.
  • Maintain rigorous organizational standards while managing complex cable pathways and connections.
  • Follow technical documentation and project plans to ensure accurate fiber routing and termination.
  • Identify and resolve connectivity issues related to fiber patching and hardware interface.
  • Collaborate with project leads to meet timeline milestones for large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Adhere to strict data center safety and security protocols at all times.
  • Ensure all installations meet industry standards for cable management and labeling.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technical Proficiency?, * Level 3 experience as a Data Center Technician or in a similar fiber-focused role.

  • Advanced proficiency in fiber optic patching and handling bundled fiber cables.
  • Availability to work designated shifts: either 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM or 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM.
  • Proven experience working on large-scale technical projects within a data center environment.
  • Ownership of over-the-ankle, ESD-rated composite toe safety boots.
  • Strong technical understanding of device-to-device and patch panel connectivity.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail in high-density cabling environments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be willing and able to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for the duration of an 8-hour shift.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to handle delicate fiber optic connectors and small components.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment or materials relevant to fiber installation.
  • Must be able to work in a climate-controlled data center environment with moderate noise levels.
