Job description

At TouchTunes, your work matters. TouchTunes is seeking a Senior Director of Software Development to lead the development, delivery, and evolution of our music entertainment platform across mobile, web, backend, and quality development teams. Reporting to the CTO, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to multiple software development teams responsible for delivering innovative experiences across our consumer and business touchpoints. You will partner closely with Product Management, Architecture, Platform software development, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure software development execution aligns with business objectives and customer needs. This role requires a balance of technical leadership, organizational development, operational excellence, and strategic planning. You will be responsible for building high-performing teams, establishing scalable engineering practices, and driving the execution of our technology strategy while maintaining a strong focus on quality, reliability, and customer experience.

Your day-to-day: Engineering Strategy & Vision

  • Define and communicate a software development vision aligned with company strategy and product goals.
  • Translate business objectives into software development roadmaps, technical initiatives, and delivery plans.
  • Drive long-term investments in platform scalability, reliability, performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Align multiple development teams around common technical standards, architectural principles, and engineering practices.
  • Participate as a key member of the Technology Leadership Team in strategic planning and annual budgeting activities.

Organizational leadership

  • Mentor and develop the software development managers, technical leads, and developers across multiple teams.
  • Build a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop organizational structures, team capabilities, and succession plans to support future growth.
  • Foster an inclusive and high-performing software development culture that attracts and retains top talent.
  • Coach leaders and teams to improve execution, technical excellence, and operational maturity.

Delivery excellence

  • Own software development execution across multiple initiatives and product areas.
  • Manage competing priorities, dependencies, budgets, staffing, and timelines to achieve business outcomes.
  • Ensure predictable delivery through effective planning, prioritization, and risk management.
  • Partner closely with Product Management to define delivery strategies and execute against roadmaps.
  • Remove organizational and technical obstacles that impact team productivity and delivery performance.

Operational Excellence & Reliability

  • Establish and monitor metrics that measure delivery effectiveness, quality, and operational performance.
  • Ensure services meet defined performance, availability, and reliability objectives.
  • Champion incident management, postmortems, root-cause analysis, and continuous operational improvements.
  • Promote software development best practices across development, testing, observability, security, and release management.

Cross-functional leadership

  • Build strong partnerships with Product, Architecture, Platform software development, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Legal teams.
  • Communicate software development priorities, trade-offs, risks, and opportunities clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Drive alignment across teams and functions to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Represent engineering in executive discussions and strategic decision-making forums.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Stakeholder relationship building?, * 17+ years of software engineering experience, including significant leadership experience managing managers and multi-disciplinary development teams.

  • Proven experience leading organizations responsible for mobile, web, backend, and quality software development functions.
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling high-performing software development organizations.
  • Strong understanding of modern software architecture, including mobile, back-end and web, cloud platforms, distributed systems, and software delivery practices.
  • Experience managing the software development budgets, headcount planning, and resource allocation.
  • Track record of delivering complex products and platforms at scale.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with executive-level presence.
  • Experience establishing and using the software development metrics to drive organizational performance.
  • Exposure to AI-native development methodologies (preferred), Work Requirements: Must be authorized to work in the United States
