AutoCAD Technical Support Specialist

The AutoCAD / BricsCAD Support Technician is responsible for supporting CAD users by maintaining software, tools, and related systems that enable engineering and design teams to remain productive.

This role serves as the primary subject-matter expert for BricsCAD and AutoCAD, supporting approximately 25 users, deploying new versions, maintaining legacy scripts, and ensuring compatibility with required third-party applications.

The position works closely with IT leadership, infrastructure teams, and managed service providers (MSPs) to support hardware, servers, and specialized engineering software environments., CAD Software Support & Administration

• Serve as the primary support resource for AutoCAD and BricsCAD environments
• Support ~25 CAD users, troubleshooting and resolving software-related issues
• Deploy new versions of BricsCAD and AutoCAD, including testing and validation
• Ensure CAD software integrates with internal and third-party applications
• Maintain and support legacy scripts and tools used by engineering teams

Tool Development & Automation

• Develop, maintain, and enhance custom scripts and tools for CAD workflows
• Evaluate third-party software needs and create solutions where applicable
• Support plan preparation and drafting workflows within BricsCAD
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and tooling

IT & Systems Collaboration

• Partner with IT leadership to support hardware, servers, and systems
• Coordinate with MSPs to escalate and resolve complex infrastructure issues
• Support a broader suite of engineering and design applications
• Maintain documentation and a knowledge base for CAD support

Engineering & Design Application Support

• Support additional engineering applications, including:
• FSS (survey software)
• AGTEK (earthwork and construction modeling software)
• Assist users with application issues, updates, and compatibility concerns
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure tools meet operational needs

Do you have experience in Non-technical user support?, * 2-5 years of experience supporting CAD software or engineering systems

• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and/or BricsCAD
• Strong troubleshooting skills (software, scripting, and user support)
• Experience writing or maintaining scripts, macros, or custom CAD tools
• Working knowledge of Windows environments and engineering applications
• Strong communication skills; ability to support technical and non-technical users, * Experience supporting BricsCAD in a civil engineering environment
• Familiarity with civil site design (e.g., 3D profiling, street design)
• Experience with FSS or AGTEK
• IT background with exposure to hardware, servers, or infrastructure support
• Experience supporting niche engineering software platforms
• Exposure to visualization tools such as Twinmotion, * Ideal: 5+ years of relevant experience
• Open to candidates with 2+ years of strong, directly applicable experience
• Candidates with adjacent IT backgrounds and strong aptitude will also be considered
