Job description

This role is responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber optic cabling systems, while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and performance., * Install, route, and secure structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber)

  • Perform cable pulling, dressing, labeling, and routing in data center environments
  • Install and build out server racks, cabinets, ladder racks, and cable trays
  • Terminate copper and fiber cabling (including patch panels and jacks)
  • Perform fiber optic splicing, termination, and testing (where applicable)
  • Test and certify cable installations using tools such as Fluke testers and OTDR
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation drawings
  • Maintain accurate documentation and labeling of all cable runs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues
  • Follow all safety protocols and company standards while on job sites
  • Support project timelines and communicate progress with supervisors

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Telecommunications blueprint interpretation?, Network Cabling Services (NCS) is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Data Center Installer 1 to support structured cabling and fiber installations in data center and commercial environments., * 1-3+ years of experience in structured cabling or data center installations

  • Experience working in data centers, commercial, or industrial environments
  • Hands-on experience with: *

  • Copper cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A)
  • Fiber optics (termination, testing; splicing preferred)
  • Familiarity with industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and layouts
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Authorized to work in the United States, * Experience with fiber splicing and OTDR testing
  • Familiarity with Fluke certification tools
  • BICSI certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Work Environment

  • Primarily data center and commercial job sites
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • May require travel, overtime, and weekend work based on project needs

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces
  • Comfortable working in active construction environments
