Job description

The Senior Web Developer will serve as a technical lead for the development, maintenance, and modernization of the NAVSUP Enterprise Web (NEW). This role focuses on delivering custom application solutions, such as the MyNAVSUP portal, to transform manual supply chain processes into intelligent digital workflows. Responsibilities:

  • Custom Application Development: Design and build complex, secure web applications for the MyNAVSUP intranet and mobile platforms to meet evolving business needs.
  • System Maintenance & Modernization: Provide tier-3 support for existing NEW properties, performing routine site audits, debugging, and software documentation updates.
  • Digital Workflow Transformation: Lead efforts to modernize manual processes by architecting scalable digital workflow solutions across the NAVSUP enterprise.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure all development adheres to DoD web standards, web accessibility (Section 508), and DISA Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) requirements.
  • Technical Leadership: Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure a high-quality user experience.
  • Integration Services: Develop and implement RESTful APIs to integrate NEW applications with legacy Navy supply chain systems and third-party services.

Requirements

Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * US Citizenship and Active DoD Clearance.

  • 7+ years of professional web development experience, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Current DoD 8570/8140 compliance (e.g., Security+ CE) is highly preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive experience with JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, jQuery), HTML5, CSS3, and server-side languages like .NET or PHP.
  • Cloud Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or AWS cloud service models within a government environment.
  • Application Security: Proficiency in PKI/CAC authentication integration and securing applications against OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
  • Mobile Development: Experience in mobile-responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
