Job description

We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support the development and maintenance of a centralized HR and Talent data catalog. This role will focus on documenting business definitions, data elements, metrics, metadata, and data lineage while partnering with HR data owners and stewards across the organization. The position plays a key role in strengthening data governance, data quality, and metadata management practices within a large enterprise environment., * Create, maintain, and enhance HR and Talent data catalog documentation.

  • Gather and document business terms, data definitions, metrics, and metadata from data owners and stewards.
  • Support data lineage mapping and impact analysis across HR systems and data warehouses.
  • Document data flows from source applications to downstream reporting and analytics platforms.
  • Contribute to data quality, governance, and stewardship initiatives.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across HR and related business functions.
  • Support additional data governance and metadata management projects as required., * Primary focus (50%+ of workload) will be data catalog development and documentation.
  • Opportunity to support metadata management, data lineage, data quality, and broader governance initiatives.

Requirements

  • 4-6+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or related fields.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in data governance, metadata management, or data cataloging.
  • Strong understanding of HR, Talent, People, Payroll, Compensation, or related workforce data domains.
  • Experience documenting data definitions, business rules, and data lineage.
  • Ability to work independently and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working with large, complex enterprise datasets., * Experience with data governance and cataloging tools such as Alation, Collibra, IBM Data Governance, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks, master/reference data management, and governance processes.
  • Understanding of HR systems such as Workday, SuccessFactors, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience supporting organizations with 5,000+ employees.
  • Exposure to finance, corporate, or enterprise data domains is a plus.
