Job description
We are seeking a Building Automation Systems (BAS) Facilities Engineer to serve as a technical lead for enterprise building automation infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring facility systems operate efficiently, reliably, and in alignment with performance, sustainability, and operational goals.
The ideal candidate will oversee the full lifecycle of BAS systems-including design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and optimization-while driving continuous improvement and standardization across sites., * Review and mark up drawings, specifications, and system designs for BAS-related projects
- Lead or support BAS projects from concept through execution, including managing key milestones
- Oversee financial components of projects (RFPs, bids, purchase orders, capital requests)
- Develop and execute commissioning plans, ensuring systems meet design and operational requirements
- Maintain and improve BAS standards, SOPs, and best practices
- Manage contractors responsible for BAS installation, integration, and programming
- Perform inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of pneumatic, electric, electronic, and digital control systems
- Partner with cross-functional teams (facilities, maintenance, vendors) to resolve system issues and improve performance
- Provide training and technical guidance to facility and maintenance staff on BAS operations
- Support operations in controlled environments (e.g., cleanrooms or critical manufacturing spaces, if applicable)
- Contribute to long-term BAS strategy, including lifecycle planning and risk mitigation for aging systems
- Identify and implement new technologies to enhance system capabilities and efficiency
- Document work activities, root cause analysis, and resolutions in CMMS systems
- Provide off-hours support as needed for critical system issues
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
Do you have a valid EPA Universal Certification license?, Do you have experience in Troubleshooting schematics?, * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience with BAS and facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
- Hands-on experience with BAS design, installation, commissioning, and system troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, * Experience with BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Honeywell, or Distech
- Familiarity with automation protocols including BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks
- Experience with CMMS systems for maintenance tracking and documentation
- EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification
- Experience with integrated building systems (HVAC controls, critical environment monitoring, lighting control, access control, power monitoring)
- Exposure to regulated or critical environments (e.g., cleanrooms, labs, manufacturing facilities)
- Tridium/Niagara certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
