Job description

The Senior PowerBI Developer is a critical role within InfoLink, Crown’s global fleet management software solution. Support business operations or customers by transforming the company’s data into meaningful and useful information for business purposes. Modify existing or create new reports and dashboards to assist in the planning and decision process. This position is a technical position and is expected to perform as an expert in business intelligence (BI) reporting.

  • Data Model/ Extraction/ Integration - Build, enhance, and support data modeling and extraction of data elements from multiple internal or external databases to meet business or customer reporting requirements. Design and build data load process taking all dependencies into consideration. Support data loading and extraction processes including ensuring optimal performance. Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries to support data extraction and transformations. Recommend and develop new metrics that may benefit the company or customers.

  • Report Creation - Use complex logic to create, test, implement and maintain complicated reports and ad-hoc queries providing actionable information necessary to support business or customer requirement. Identify data needed to provide the desired output. Develop and maintain DAX measures and calculated columns to support business logic, KPIs, and analytical reporting within Power BI. Design and develop analytic and reporting solutions appropriate for Business Intelligence platform. Be an expert with BI reporting tools. Use the latest techniques in the industry to make the reporting process efficient which includes but is not limited to automation, speed, aesthetic designs and reducing complexity.

Remote Work: Crown offers hybrid remote work for this position. A reasonable commute (within 1-2 hours of the New Bremen, OH office) is necessary since some onsite work is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or related field

  • 5 or more years of related work experience (salary will be commensurate with experience)

  • Good written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to occasionally travel with overnight stays (0-5%)

  • Developing custom and complex queries in SQL for reporting needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Power BI administration, including gateways, RLS/OLS, workspace governance, and capacity management.

  • Hands-on experience developing user-facing features using Angular framework and embedding PowerBI reports in web applications.

  • Significant hands-on experience in creating and deploying KPI; analytic; and dashboard solutions including design; development; deployment; data engineering; and data management projects and practices.

  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or AWS Redshift.

  • Working knowledge of DAX for measure and column creation to implement business logic.

  • Experience using Tabular Editor to maintain semantic models in Power BI Premium.

  • Familiarity with Power Automate to support reporting and analytics needs.
