Job description

Insight Global is seeking a System Integration Engineer to support one of our defense customers out of Sterling Heights. This role is responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and troubleshooting system integration benches and lab environments used to test complex C5ISR and combat vehicle systems. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on engineering experience, thrives in a customer-facing lab environment, and enjoys working across electrical, mechanical, and software domains to ensure system interoperability and mission readiness. Essential Job Functions:

  • Design, engineer, implement, and verify system integration benches, test racks, cables, harnesses, and lab configurations to improve usability and maintainability
  • Ensure system integration benches accurately reflect current system configurations and support testing of the latest system software for functionality and interoperability
  • Troubleshoot system, hardware, software, and integration issues impacting lab or bench performance and develop effective solutions
  • Provide electrical, mechanical, and software support for combat vehicle system bench planning, design, development, and execution
  • Interface with Army and DoD program offices to understand C5ISR system interoperability and vehicle platform integration
  • Support system testers with a customer-service mindset to enable efficient and effective test execution
  • Coordinate with government personnel to plan, schedule, and execute system bench activities
  • Maintain configuration management of lab assets, including updating drawings and documentation to reflect current configurations
  • Identify, procure, assemble, and build lab materials and components as required
  • Perform mechanical assembly and system setup as needed
  • Maintain and manage system bench assets and configurations
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, Army customers, and cross-functional teams
  • Develop a deep working knowledge of C5ISR and combat vehicle subsystems

Requirements

  • 8+ years of engineering experience
  • Experience within
  • Experience with communication protocols such as CAN bus, Ethernet, Serial, RS-232, RS-422, etc.
  • Familiarity of complex system architectures and subsystem interfaces
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering - Experience with embedded, or on-board, vehicle computer systems such as Multi-Function Displays, Power Distribution and Management, Drivers Vision or SA Enhancement.
  • Familiar with DoD C4ISR Systems such as: BFT, SINCGARS, WIN-T and/or familiar with Network Operations or Tactical Intranet.
  • Experience with and knowledge of automated testing.
  • Prior experience as a 25B, 25H, 25F, 25N, 25U, 255N or similar MOS.

Benefits & conditions

$40/hr to $60/hr : Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages while on contract for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
