Engineering Technician / Data Analyst

Our client, a well-capitalized mineral and royalty investment company, is seeking an Engineering Technician to support its Engineering and Asset Management teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional interested in building a career in the upstream oil & gas industry while gaining exposure to reserves, asset management, data analytics, and business intelligence., * Support Engineering and Asset Management teams through data analysis, reporting, and database maintenance.

• Assist with maintaining and organizing asset, production, reserves, and ownership data.
• Build, update, and improve reports, dashboards, and data visualization tools.
• Analyze large datasets and identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Create and maintain spreadsheets, models, and recurring reports using Excel.
• Assist with business intelligence initiatives utilizing Power BI and other reporting tools.
• Support engineering projects, acquisitions, and asset evaluations through data gathering and analysis.
• Work closely with Engineering, Asset Management, Accounting, and Land teams on special projects.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity across multiple databases and reporting platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent Excel skills, and a degree in a STEM-related field. Exposure to oil and gas, reserves analysis, ARIES, Power BI, or SQL is a plus but not required., * Bachelor’s degree required in a STEM-related field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, or a similar technical discipline.

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 required.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with large datasets and multiple data sources.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship, coursework, or exposure to the upstream oil & gas industry.
• Experience with Power BI, SQL, or other data analytics tools.
• Exposure to ARIES or other reserves/economic evaluation software.
• Experience building reports, dashboards, or database queries.
• Interest in pursuing a career in engineering, asset management, reserves, or energy analytics., This position is ideal for a recent graduate who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and wants to build a long-term career in the energy industry.
