Job description

National Industry Network is seeking a Director of Technology & Automation to help design, build, and improve the AI infrastructure, systems, and automation that support our business.

This is a leadership-track role, but it is not a hands-off management role.

We are looking for a hands-on architect, builder, and problem-solver. This person must be willing and able to personally build workflows, configure systems, improve data flow, implement automation, troubleshoot operational issues, and help turn our long-term technology vision into working systems.

This is not a traditional IT role. This is not a software administration role. This is not a role for someone who wants to spend their time only discussing technology trends.

This is a hands-on builder role for someone who wants to be part of something meaningful and put their stamp on the future technology infrastructure of a growing organization.

We are not simply looking for a hire. We are looking for a key piece of our current team with the ability to grow into a much larger leadership role over time.

The successful candidate will work directly with National Industry Network leadership to build the operational and intelligence infrastructure that supports growth, scalability, seller acquisition, buyer engagement, deal flow, reporting, automation, and long-term competitive advantage.

This person must be capable of doing the work today while also having the ambition, judgment, and leadership potential to eventually help lead broader technology efforts as National Industry Network and its parent company, Southern Equity Capital, continue to grow.

The Opportunity

National Industry Network has a clear vision for the future of its business. We believe systems, automation, data, and artificial intelligence will play a major role in the next stage of growth.

This role is an opportunity to join at a critical stage and help build the foundation for what comes next.

Before advanced intelligence systems can be fully implemented, we need someone who can understand how the business operates today, identify where information lives, document how data moves through the organization, and create a strong operational foundation.

Success in this role starts with learning the machine before attempting to improve it. Once that foundation is understood, this role becomes responsible for helping implement the intelligence layer that sits on top of those processes.

For the right person, this is not just a technology role. It is a chance to become part of the core team building the operating and technology infrastructure behind National Industry Network’s next decade of growth.

The Mission

National Industry Network is building a scalable Acquisition Intelligence Ecosystem designed to connect sellers, buyers, listings, investor profiles, workflows, marketplaces, reporting systems, and operational data into a unified intelligence layer.

The roadmap exists. The destination is defined. The challenge is implementation.

The Director of Technology & Automation will be responsible for understanding the business, improving core systems, and helping build the technology, automation, and AI infrastructure that makes the vision possible.

This role sits at the intersection of:

  • Business operations
  • Systems architecture
  • Workflow automation
  • Reporting and operational intelligence
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Seller acquisition
  • Buyer and seller lifecycle intelligence
  • Long-term technology leadership

The objective is not simply automation.

The objective is to create a connected intelligence layer that improves how information moves through the organization and supports better decisions at every stage of the buyer and seller lifecycle.

Core ResponsibilitiesBusiness Systems Architecture

  • Design and improve operational systems
  • Create scalable workflows
  • Maintain documentation and governance standards
  • Improve integration between systems
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement
  • Ensure systems support the way the business actually operates

AI Layer & Systems Orchestration

  • Help implement and maintain the organization’s AI infrastructure
  • Build orchestration between systems, workflows, and data sources
  • Support development of scoring, matching, routing, and intelligence systems
  • Evaluate AI platforms and implementation approaches
  • Improve organizational intelligence through AI-powered workflows
  • Ensure AI systems align with business processes and operational requirements

Automation & Workflow Development

  • Build and maintain automations
  • Improve workflow reliability
  • Reduce manual work
  • Create monitoring and quality-control systems
  • Support routing, alerts, task creation, follow-up sequences, and operational handoffs
  • Improve consistency across departments and business units

Reporting & Operational Intelligence

  • Build dashboards and reporting systems
  • Improve visibility into business performance
  • Improve data quality and reporting accuracy
  • Support executive reporting and operational decision-making
  • Help turn business activity into actionable insight

Seller Acquisition & Predictive Target Marketing

  • Support development of systems that help identify and prioritize potential business sellers
  • Help build data-driven workflows for seller acquisition
  • Support predictive targeting, segmentation, scoring, and outreach infrastructure
  • Improve visibility into seller lead sources, qualification, conversion, and performance
  • Help connect seller acquisition strategy to CRM workflows, automation, reporting, and AI systems

Technology & Vendor Management

  • Evaluate technology solutions
  • Manage software vendors and consultants
  • Oversee implementation projects
  • Help determine when to build, buy, integrate, or simplify
  • Support the long-term technology roadmap, The person who will thrive in this role is naturally curious, highly resourceful, and energized by solving complex problems. They enjoy building systems, improving workflows, and creating order from chaos. They understand that strong AI systems are built on strong operational systems.

They are not intimidated by ambiguity. They do not need every answer handed to them. They are willing to learn, investigate, test, build, improve, and iterate. They are comfortable doing hands-on work today while building toward something much larger tomorrow.

Most importantly, they are excited by the opportunity to help build something that does not yet exist and become a meaningful part of the team shaping it.

Growth Opportunity

This role has the potential to grow significantly as National Industry Network continues to expand.

We are looking for someone who can execute today, but who may also have the ability to grow into a larger leadership role as our technology needs evolve.

Over time, this person may help lead technology strategy, systems architecture, automation, AI infrastructure, reporting, integrations, seller acquisition systems, and technology execution across National Industry Network and potentially the broader Southern Equity Capital portfolio.

For the right person, this is a chance to do meaningful work, build important systems, and help shape the future of a growing organization from the inside.
