Job description

JOB TITLE: Lead Quality Technician PLANT: High Point - Fort Wayne - Schertz

REPORTS TO: Quality Manager/Engineer DEPT: Quality

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: This position will report directly to the Quality Manager/Quality Engineer and work together with the quality team to follow procedures and work instructions to achieve optimal productivity, quality, and safety assuring internal and external customer satisfaction. This role will also perform developmental work for projects, improvement initiatives, and maintain and develop overall quality. This position will also maintain physical testing equipment in the lab and production floor to provide technical support and guidance on projects regarding lab testing and analysis to assist in overall evaluations of products, processes, and potential raw material.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform physical testing of raw material, production, development trials, and composites.
  • Create Training and work instructions for testing procedures
  • Assist Quality Technician in their regular duties.
  • Including all Quality Technicians essential duties and responsibilities - Backup
  • Provide direction and support to Quality Technicians with Assistance from Quality Manager/Engineer
  • Ensure the Master Control Samples and timely review of replacements.
  • Assist with Certificate of Conformance reports.
  • Assist Quality Manager/Engineer with PPAP / APQP / FMEA.
  • Inspect and recommend disposition of Nonconforming or suspect material.
  • Follow and interpret policies and procedures.
  • Work with other departments as needed.
  • Ensure calibrations are up to date and verification process of calibrated equipment.
  • Participating in 8Ds’ internal & external
  • Assist production personnel with tasks supporting the production line.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Statistics?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1yr + higher education.
  • Nonwovens experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to operate testing equipment and performing lab testing.
  • Intermediate computer and math skills.
  • Basic skills in the use of statistical tools.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work on a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to work in hot/cold manufacturing environment, which can include repetitive walking, standing and/or sitting for the duration of the tasks.
  • Ability to transport or move up to 50lbs. of material.
  • Ability to understand and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and/or other employees.
  • Ability to work Monday thru Friday 8 hour schedule
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts and every other weekend when business demands warrant a 24-7 continuous operation.
  • Ability once a month to work with Night shift Quality Technician
