Job description

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Support network monitoring using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, and Splunk to identify issues proactively.
  • Help troubleshoot connectivity problems related to LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), and network protocols such as TCP/IP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and MPLS.
  • Contribute to network security efforts by supporting firewall management (Cisco ASA), IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine), LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), and PKI (Public Key Infrastructure).
  • Participate in system hardening activities on operating systems like Linux distributions (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), BSD variants, macOS, Windows Server environments, and virtualization platforms such as VMware and vSphere.
  • Assist with network support tasks including DHCP/DNS configuration, GPO management, load balancing setup, SAN/NFS storage management, and high availability configurations.
  • Support remote access solutions using SSH, SFTP, openSUSE tools, and remote access software to ensure secure connectivity for users worldwide.

  • Familiarity with network security practices such as encryption methods (SSL/TLS), SSO (Single Sign-On), VPNs (IPsec), firewall configuration, vulnerability assessment techniques, and system hardening procedures.
  • Exposure to scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks; experience with PowerShell is a plus.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure components including servers (Windows/Linux/Unix), virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi), cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is advantageous.
  • Prior experience supporting network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or PRTG; understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) processes is beneficial.
