DevOps Engineer

A client of Insight Global is looking to bring on a DevOps Engineer to their team. Most of the work will be projects.. However, there will be about 25-40% cases. They will be focused on automating and deploying systems, automating management of systems.

Linux skills: advanced, InfraOps owns the operating system management, so shared responsibility with the AppOps Team -

Automation Experience

Experience with IaC: Terraform, Cloud Formation - very similar tools, Cloud Formation is AWS - allow you to go into configuration and specify how the infrastructure and what infrastructure is getting deployed. Can type out configuration form and can put that into terraform and build the environment and can create that and has all the configurations declared, can use same code for production and then create a test environment, and can recreate these environments

System Configuration expereince: Ansible, Puppet

Public cloud or Vmware: managing cloud infrastructure, manage 90% of environment in data center is in Vmware,

Prefers AWS

Scripting: Python, Bash,

Automated things in the past with scripting
