Job description

IT Support Specialist to provide technical support for end users across warehouse, freight forwarding, logistics, and office operations. This role will be responsible for maintaining hardware, software, network connectivity, and user access while ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity throughout the organization.

As a global logistics provider specializing in air, ocean, road, rail, and warehousing solutions, SGL relies heavily on technology systems to support daily operations and customer service.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier I and Tier II technical support to office and warehouse employees.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
  • Support Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and related business applications.
  • Assist users with password resets, account management, and access permissions.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues including VPN, Wi-Fi, LAN, and remote access.
  • Set up and maintain workstations for new hires and employee transfers.
  • Support warehouse technology including RF scanners, label printers, shipping systems, and logistics software.
  • Maintain inventory of IT assets and equipment.
  • Document support tickets, resolutions, and technical procedures.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for hardware, software, and telecommunications support.
  • Assist with cybersecurity initiatives, endpoint protection, and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in IT projects, upgrades, system deployments, and technology improvements.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Wireless networking?, Do you have a Associate’s degree?, * Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.

  • 2+ years of IT support, help desk, or desktop support experience.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Windows 10/11
  • Microsoft 365
  • Active Directory
  • TCP/IP Networking
  • VPN Connectivity
  • Printers and Peripherals
  • Mobile Device Support
  • Experience supporting users in a logistics, warehouse, transportation, or manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems and IT service management processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Microsoft Certifications (M365, Azure, or Windows).
  • Experience with ERP, TMS, WMS, CargoWise, or freight forwarding software.
  • Basic cybersecurity and network administration knowledge.
  • Experience supporting warehouse handheld scanners and shipping technology.
