Job description

As a Senior Engineer specializing in Integration and Messaging, you will play a critical role in architecting, developing, and optimizing complex distributed messaging and streaming platforms that support Capital Group’s foundational business applications and services. You’ll be a key member of an enterprise-wide technology team, providing advanced engineering solutions for secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud-based systems. Your expertise will empower internal customers to successfully leverage Capital Group’s integration and messaging ecosystem, ensuring robust, reliable, and innovative platform capabilities.

You will partner with software and platform engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality features across CG’s Internal Developer Platform product lifecycle, while collaborating with security, risk, and compliance teams to protect the enterprise. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving engineering excellence, optimizing performance, and establishing best practices for integration middleware and messaging solutions. This role demands a passion for automation, a commitment to self-service enablement, and a continuous improvement mindset informed by the latest industry trends.

Requirements

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related technical field
  • You have at least 8 years of experience in platform architecture and/or systems engineering with public and private cloud
  • You have extensive experience as a Full stack developer with OpenAPI, Swagger, REST APIs to develop “Platform/Developer productivity utilities” with Java/SpringBoot, Python, REACT , angular and any database like PostgreSQL , DynamoDB
  • You have hands on experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools, automation agents, or platform-level AI capabilities to improve engineering productivity, reliability, and scale, while complying with approved enterprise AI platforms, security controls, and audit requirement.
  • Proficient in development and engineering practices such as GitOps, CI/CD, testing, secure coding, Git, tracing, and alerting.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and AWS services like Route53, ELB, and ALB for deploying stateful geo-distributed applications, utilizing industry-standard CI/CD tools (Harness preferred).
  • At least 3 years of preferred experience with Confluent Cloud/Kafka , API gateway, MSK, Messaging Streaming Platform, including designing, deploying with IaC on a public cloud, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Knowledgeable in enabling observability for distributed platforms.
  • Experience in developing Infrastructure as Code with configuration management platforms like Terraform.
  • Understanding of TLS certificate chains and the TLS security framework.
  • Experienced in Agile/SCRUM methodologies with a focus on product delivery.
  • You have a strong desire to lead, mentor and contribute to a culture of excellence.
  • You have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. You possess strong communication and collaboration skills.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
