Senior IT Specialist

• Support the management and operation of a comprehensive IT infrastructure including servers, workstations, firewalls, switches, database, fiber optic connectivity etc.
• Perform regular maintenance on mostly Windows and some Linux based operating system environments.
• Assist in the planning and scheduling of installation for new hardware, operating system and application software.
• Apply Windows group policies and configuration based on Gov’t STIG
• Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing, some network configuration
• Understand and create firewall rules on local computers and Palo Alto
• Parse Nessus scan findings and perform vulnerability remediations
• Support HHS Studio Authority to Operate (ATO)

Media IT Support

• Develop understanding of internet-based broadcasting (RTMP and HLS)
• Plan, prepare and implement livestreaming events
• Understand IT’s role in broadcast environment
• Familiarization with video production specialized equipment - Elemental Encoder, Avid ecosystem, virtual machine environments
• Support video, audio and audio visual (AV) productions as needed.

User Support

• Provide user support for workstation software, Windows 10 and 11, and hardware related issues.
• Troubleshoot, investigate, resolve, and document hardware and software issues.
• Research and recommend new IT technologies - including cloud and AI
• Assist in user acceptance test of new hardware and software
• Assist in the development of system documentation

Ideal candidate will have experience providing IT support in a Television Broadcast or Video Production facility and be familiar with SMPTE standards, particularly SMPTE standard 2110.
