Job description
- Network Architecture & Operations: Design, configure, and maintain scalable LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN topologies across on-premises and cloud (AWS, Azure) environments.
- Security Hardening & Defense: Implement and manage next-generation firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and Web Application Firewalls (WAF).
- Vulnerability Management: Perform routine network vulnerability scanning, threat analysis, and penetration testing to patch security gaps before they are exploited.
- Incident Response: Monitor network traffic for anomalies and malware, serving as the lead responder for any security breaches or routing failures.
- Identity & Access Management: Govern network access using Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to enforce the principle of least privilege.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Zero trust architecture design?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Routing & Switching: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, BGP, OSPF, and VLAN segmentation.
- Security Protocols: Expertise in SSL/TLS, IPsec, 802.1X authentication, and zero-trust security architectures.
- Infrastructure Tools: Packet analysis/packet captures using tools like Wireshark and tcpdump.
- Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and configuration management.
- Compliance & Frameworks: Working knowledge of security standards such as NIST or ISO 27001., * Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Systems Engineering is typically preferred, though extensive relevant experience can sometimes substitute.
- Experience: 3 to 7 years of combined experience in network administration and enterprise IT security.
- Certifications: Industry-standard credentials are highly valued by employers, including the CompTIA Security+ or more advanced, vendor-specific certifications like the Cisco CCNP Security, Palo Alto PCNSE, or Fortinet NSE.
