Vice President of Information TechnologyLead Technology Strategy, Innovation, and Transformation

Our client in the Kalamazoo area, a strong player in the financial services sector, is seeking a strategic and collaborative Vice President of Information Technology to lead the organization’s technology vision, operations, and long-term digital strategy. This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to influence business strategy, modernize technology capabilities, strengthen data and analytics, and guide the responsible adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.

As a key member of the executive leadership team, the VP of IT will provide strategic direction across infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, data and reporting, project delivery, and technology governance. The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader who builds strong relationships, develops high-performing teams, and effectively aligns technology initiatives with organizational objectives.

This role is ideal for an executive who understands that successful technology leadership starts with listening, learning, and building trust before driving meaningful change.

*Hybrid schedule - Onsite in Kalamazoo Tues & Thurs, remote Mon, Wed, Fri.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the overall technology organization, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, data and analytics, and project management functions.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap aligned with organizational goals and future growth.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities where technology can improve efficiency, service delivery, and business outcomes.
  • Evaluate current technology capabilities and recommend improvements to systems, processes, and organizational structure.
  • Lead strategic technology initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Drive the organization’s AI strategy, governance framework, and adoption efforts.
  • Improve reporting, analytics, and business intelligence capabilities to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Oversee information security, risk management, and technology governance programs.
  • Manage key vendor relationships, contracts, and technology partnerships.
  • Prioritize and manage a diverse portfolio of technology projects and investments.
  • Present technology strategies, initiatives, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.
  • Build, mentor, and develop technology leaders and team members.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure technology operations remain reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Vendor relationship management?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.

  • 15+years of overall IT experience
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience within information technology, including senior-level management or executive leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience leading multiple IT disciplines, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, technology operations, and vendor management.
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational and technology transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of information security, risk management, governance, and technology best practices.
  • Experience managing complex technology portfolios and large-scale projects.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership teams
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or advanced professional certifications.
  • Exposure to AI strategy, governance, and responsible implementation programs.
  • Experience building and scaling high-performing technology teams.
